Thanks everyone. This message seems to be taking on a life of it's own and this is a good thing. I would like to clear up one thing. In the original message, I was speaking of the Drakes Creek that empties into the Barren River in Kentucky, it flows North.
Mary's discussion about Joseph Drake and his companions is talking about the Drake Creek that flows into the Cumberland in Tennessee, it flows South.
I discovered that there are two Drakes Creeks, after reading some of the sources that Mary suggested. Please, let's keep the discussion going so that we can all learn more of the area's early history.
