Monica,
I have found that several times my ancestors who lived in Allen, and Simpson Co KY went to Gallatin, TN, Sumner Co., and got married there. In fact, my grandparents, Millie Ann Thomas and George W. Powell did just that. I do not know the reason for it, though.
