Yes this is definately part of that area. Drake's Creek empties into the Barren River about one and one half mile east of the I 65 interstate as it passes Bowling Green. It's three forks rise from Macon or Sumner County in Tennessee and flow north to the Barren through Simpson, Allen and finally Warren Counties in Kentucky. The latest information that I have found about the naming of this river is that Daniel Boone named it. While hunting in the area, two members of his hunting party became seperated from the party and lost. they were Drake and Trammel. Hence the Drake's fork and the Trammel fork.
