Hi. I'm wondering why certain ministers show up repeatedly in the Allen County/Warren County marriage records, yet others authorized to marry don't show up at all (or rarely). In the case of Joseph Logan, he went through the necessary court process to become certified to marry in 1800, yet I can't find any marriages where Joseph is the minister of record. Alexander Devin is another example. What might be the reason for this. Joseph Logan didn't die until 1812, so there are 12 years where marriages he performed should be documented. Devin moved to Indiana, but could have married couples in the early 1800s in Warren County.
Thanks for your help.
Mike
