In this letter, Solomon writes the following information:
Solomon Willoughby b. 12 Feb 1838
Nancy A. Ayres b. 28 Mar 1840
Louella Mc. Willoughby b. 4 Mar 1864
Sidney M. Willoughby b. 8 Oct 1866
James K. Willoughby b. 21 Feb 1868
William Noah Willoughby b. 17 Dec 1870
Jinney Belle Willoughby b. 15 Jan 1873
(children by his second wife (?) though the fact that they are by his second wife is not shown)
Adah Angialine Willoughby b. 6 June 1875
Josephus Lesley Willoughby b. 7 Apr 1877
Charley Ewing Willoughby b. 8 Apr 1880
"You draw these off and put them in your Bible rite soon. (signed) Solomon Willoughby - Oscar, Ballard Co., Ky." He was living with his son Noah.
In the letter he tells his son, "Well Sid you ought to go to Mount Union and See if your Mothers Tomb Stone has been made fast in the Rock or not. George Eddy said he would fasten it when he put up Willie's. So you see about it as soon as you can if you have not."
According to Solomon's letter, Nancy Atcherson Ayres was born 28 Mar 1840. Their infant daughter, Jinney Belle, was born 15 Jan 1873. She died 9 Aug 1873. Nancy died of T.B. the same year as Jinney. They are buried in the same grave.
Aunt Helen told me that Solomon is buried next to his wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Jinney Belle in Mt. Union Cemetery in Allen Co.,KY, but he has no headstone.
There was also a picture of Solomon and his wife, Eliza Mize, in the Bible with the letter, but I don't know where it is either. Solomon and Eliza married in Allen Co., KY in 1874. They had three children - Angeline b. 1875; Josephus b. 1877; and Charley b. 1880.
Solomon married a third time in 1909 to Lucy Harmon Cornwell, but they had no children. He died in 1911.
I know this isn't the information you wanted, but I thought you might want to know about it. Hope this helps some.
