Jean or Jinny Holder md a John Costilow. The bond was issued in Warren County on February 15, 1809 and consent was given by her father, William Holder. This marriage was returned in Barren Co., KY and is now recorded in both counties:
Warren Co. KY Marriages 1797-1851 by Thomas, Rabold, and Price, 1970, p21 includes this marriage: "Cosloo, John and Ginny Holder Feb 15 [1809], her cons by F(William Holder) witt by B. Garrison.
Marriage Records of Barren Co. KY 1799-1849 by Martha Powell Reneau, 1984 includes this marriage on p 51: "Costlow, John to Jean Holder, 1809, md by Augustine Clayton, date not given.
Warren Co., KY Marriages, John Coslow and Jinny Holder Feb 15, 1809. Her consent by William Holder, father. Wit. B. Garrison."
These records provide three spellings of his surname: Cosloo, Costlow, and Coslow; and three spellings of her given name: Ginny, Jean, and Jinny. Was her name Virginia??
1830 Greene Co. IL census (p 49/96) lists a John Costiloo with a male and female 30-40, 1 male 5-10, a male and female 10-15, and 2 females 15-20. Next door was Bradley Holder 20-30 who had married Esther Wright in Warren Co. KY in Dec 1819, and Violet Lollar in Morgan Co. IL in 1828. I think Bradley is either a brother or a cousin to John Costilow's wife Jean/Jane/Jenny Holder.
