I am unfamiliar with this story. However, it sounds interesting! My Lyles' family is not from Allen County, KY. They are from Lancaster County, SC. I am researching the Lyles of Allen County, KY because known descendants of them match me genetically! I am the co-administrator for the LISLE Project at Family Tree DNA. We have made some great strides with DNA testing and more increasingly in my own family group.
I can tell you that the Lyles' family from Allen County, KY descended from the Lyles' family of Loudon County, VA; Alexandria, VA; and Maryland. They come from Thomas Hilleary Lyles brother to Colonel William Lyles who owned Wantwater House in Prince George's County, Maryland. I have descendants from the Alexandria, VA line as well who match.
