I highly recommend you buy a $24 book "Some Descendants of James Mayhew of Prince George's County, Maryland" from its author, Ms. Helen Mayhew Handley of 946 Regal Road, Berkeley, CA 94708. This is our line and it's fascinating reading.
In brief, Alexander and Lydia Mayhew had 11 children, one of whom was Aaron, my ggggrandfather. (Alexander, obviously, was my gggggrandfather.)
Other children, according to Ms. Handley's book, were Moses, William, Nancy, Doshie Ann, Reason, James, Frances Hull, John H., Rebecca and Polly.
Please let me know from whom you are descended and I'll try to provide more from the Handley book.
Alexander and Lydia are buried in the Stony Point cemetery. The church will be 200 years old in 2007 and I have written to the pastor to see if they are planning any observance. I told him I would like to come if they do.
