Salim Ghusain wrote: People of the state security and the security department of Great Mubarak directorate banned last night a session, which the shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir intended to hold in the area of Addan. The session was under the title of The American Campaign against Islam. It was prevented because there was no permission given by the directorate. Abdullah Rashid, one of the Hizb members, said to the newspaper of As-Siyasah that the state security department called him and his companion Jumah As-Sad yesterday morning after they knew of the session. He pointed out that they were interrogated for some time regarding holding the session, the number of the Hizb members and their leader. He confirmed there was no any pressure exercised against him and nor violations committed during his interrogation. He explained the session they planned to hold yesterday was the first public gathering for the Hizb members; but they prevented it under the pretext of absence of permission. He added we are a Hizb that exists all over the world; we refuse to use arms, but rather depend on thought. We argue with mind with thought. He explained that the American State of Department did not classify Hizb ut-Tahrir within the terrorist groups. It was planned that the writer Mohammad al-Awadi and Professor Dr. Tariq at-Tawari of Shareeah College would participate in the session as commentators. The Police made a siege around the Addan area so as to prevent the convention of the session. Al-Etaibi criticized the action of the state security people represented in preventing the session. He said to the Siyasah that the state security department arrested yesterday some shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir and warned them of not convening the session. Otherwise, the police and a group of the Special Forces will disperse them by using batons and tear gas. He added the session which they planned to convene yesterday is purely intellectual, which talks about two subjects: clash of civilizations and democracy. He confirmed Hizb ut-Tahrir does not acknowledge democracy and nor believe in it because there is no democracy in Islam. Al-Etaibi confirmed the session is going to be held regardless of the acceptance or rejection of others. He explained Hizb ut-Tahrir never accepts the American ambassador to do whatever he likes in Kuwait, where he moves from one diwaniyyah to another without having permission from the ministry of interior. This happens at a time where the citizens are prevented from making their sessions and gatherings. He said: We do not accept that the American embassy controls our life and prepares reports about the political rights of women and about inheritance. Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the parties that consider the rulers as kuffar and it does not acknowledge the borders between the Arab and Islamic states; besides it calls for establishing Khilafah Islamiyyah.
