The ceremony was held at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex in Kamara. Prince Khalid Bin Sultan, vice defence minister of Saudi Arabia, was the chief guest, while Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal and army officials were also present. The Super Mushak jets are manufactured by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. Musharraf meets Saudi official: President Pervez Musharraf said on Tuesday that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed brotherly ties and hoped that these would become stronger with the increase in defence cooperation. Talking to Saudi Vice Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, who called on him at PresidentÂ’s House, President Musharraf said the friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was based on common bonds of religion, culture and history. Musharraf said that Pakistan had drawn up a long-term plan to root out terrorists from the country and that there would be no let up in the fight against terrorism. Prince Khalid bin Sultan said his country gave the highest priority to ties with Pakistan. He said that he had useful talks with Pakistani leaders. The Saudi vice minister said the armed forces of the two countries enjoyed excellent cooperation. Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal, Saudi Air Force chief Air Marshal Abdul Rehman al-Faisal were also at the meeting. Meanwhile, talking to Mauritius Prime Minister Paul Raymond Berenger, President Musharraf exchanged views on regional and international issues including Iraq and Afghanistan. President Musharraf said that Pakistan wanted to resolve all outstanding issues with India, including Kashmir. He hoped that dialogue between Pakistan and India would yield positive results.
Pakistan hands over 8 Super Mushak jets to Saudi Arabia
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday handed over the first consignment of eight Super Mushak jets to Saudi Arabia.
