At least two explosions have been reported outside the US and Israeli embassies in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. There are reports that at least two Uzbeks have been killed in the blast at the Israeli embassy, but there are no reports of Israeli casualties. There are also reports of a blast at the prosecutor's office, where several people are said to have been wounded. US and Israeli officials were quoted as saying the explosions were set off by suicide bombers. The blasts came soon after the trials began of alleged Islamist extremists accused of involvement in a series of bomb attacks and shootings in late March. Some 15 suspects are standing trial for a wave of violence earlier that left at least 47 people dead. The suspects face charges including terrorism, religious extremism and attempting to overthrow the government.
