I am Three are an acoustic duo from Manchester. The two members, Hughes (acoustic guitar/vocals) and Irving (double bass/vocals) cut their musical teeth over several years in bands and solo projects and began performing together in 2008 by taking a set of original songs and unveiling them at impromptu shows in cafes, art galleries, shop and restaurants. Mixing music normally heard in dark, greasy live music venues and a relaxed daylight setting.
The combination of I Am Three’s two song writers and their opposing interests create a genre defying mix of identifiable styles such as grunge, alt-folk, blues & hip-hop.
Their low-key spontaneous unplugged performances continue in the UK along side a handful of concerts and in October they are staging a series of shows in France, Netherlands, Germany & Italy as part of their first European tour.
