Certainly from an emotional standpoint ... choosing divorce after discovery of infidelity in one's marrisge might be an easier choice.
All the book reading ... all the counseling ... all the studying of oneself might not be needed. One would just accept the fact that their spouse didn't love them any more and move on.
Assuming the spouse is the one with the relationship or self worth problems ... certainly divorce would be an easier choice for the non-cheating spouse.
Wonder why we choose to stay? In my case I think it was Family. I thought our sons and our grandchildren would have a better life if we stayed married
