I stayed. It is 10 1/2 years now. Because of the "double betrayal", it took many years of work to reach the place where the pain and anger have gone. We made a lot of positive changes in our relationship since the affair, but it wasn't worth all the pain.
We are also grandparents and we have a wonderful family, so we preserved the family connection. I am glad that we did.
Even though the pain has gone, I still occasionally have dreams about my husband involved in an affair, so the scar still remains.
