An update. This situation could be a book -- or at least a psychiatric paper -- at this point. While my wife and I continue therapy, with mixed results (she is doing better, addressing her problems honestly for the most part and her therapist seems to really have a grasp of what is going on), I am not doing so well. I actually started cutting, which is pretty strange. May be a reaction from some meds they gave me, but thats another story. In any event, I had reached out to my wife's family many months ago, and asked them to step in to help my wife replace the toxic "support" circle she had during her affairs, with supportive family. Her family was apparently so "freaked out" by our story, they didn't step up. Five months later, and no one called or helped her. Not her mother, sisters, brother... not anyone. I finally confronted them, angrily, and sure enough they responded with anger, and it looks like my wife and I are now pretty much disowned from the family. So months later, the ramifications of this are still falling down on us. Strange days. I am still plagued with flashbacks and nightmares, and shrinks have tried antidepressants, and now anti-ADHD drugs (I have ADD/ADHD) and nothing is working. So still navigating that. As I write this, my wife and I are separated now, but we are working to rebuild a friendship first, as a first step to seeing of we can get back together. I still struggle with compulsions to contact the men, but this is going away. The flashbacks are my primary problem, and the thing that is really keeping me from progressing.
