We will never regain the trust that we once had, nor should we. The pain and hurt were too acute to ever become totally trusting again, however, that said, once you are in a relationship that you KNOW is solid and good, the necessary trust will come.
It is now 9 years since d-day #2 and I trust my spouse. We have a great relationship, but the trust is still not 100% because I know what he has been capable of.
Relax - you will have enough trust again.
