Hi Stan,
The therapist that pulled our miserable marriage out of the grave WAS Janis Spring and if you do live in the "tristate" area, do go to her. Otherwise, dearpeggy.com has other fine psychologists on her site. I believe that if the therapist is not good at marital recovery, you are wasting your time.
I have heard that a marriage retreat will not work for a truly dysfunctional marriage. It is best used for enhancing a functioning marriage.
