My opinion is that he deserves to know and to make his own decisions. Anything less would be treating him like a child. Telling also gives you both a chance to strengthen the marriage and yourselves so none of this nonesense will ever happen again. Many times recovering from an affair has the outcome of producing a stronger relationship.
