I played for many years (about to start again), I officiated for many years and have coached for many years (even have a few championships under my belt). At a time when things were dark, I looked for something to give me some feeling of joy, that zest we all have. It started back in February when I began officiating soccer again. I am a pretty good soccer official, at least in my opinion, some coaches and parents may disagree . I also enjoyed watching my daughter's team play, getting to be a spectator. Soccer is something that transcends the bad that happened. Now for more zest. An even comes along every few years called the World Cup. This is my favorite sporting event.It is an event that I have a zest for in life. I am watching Trinidad and Tobago versus Sweden. I am thoroughly enjoying the match. It is amazing what a game can do for a person. Watching it just makes me want to get out on the feld even more. I will watch much more and enjoy. No one can take this away from me. I know this may all sound a little silly. As a matter of fact, does it? Does it really matter. The fact is I have found an avenue for enjoyment in life and rebuilding my spirit in the positive sense. It's out there, we just have to find it. May you all find it as I am finding it.... John
There are things in life we all appreciate. There are things we have a zest for in life. Eventually, one of those will invoke your spirit, at least it is doing mine right now.
