You deserve to live, the next time he smothers you might not be here to talk about it. Think about it, I don't want to scare the crap out of you and then again, I do. My advice, file for a restraining order, NOW. Journal every single thing he does. End contact permenantly (trust me on that, once you respond it is hard to stop). Get into counseling. Build a support group. Save your life, before he ends it. Keep in touch.

Bad idea. He obviously isn't deserving of hearing something like that, and if he tries to smother you while having sex, then think of what he is capable of thinking you have been with other men. You need to get out, sweetie, and now. This is just not something that will go away so easily by saying, "Okay, I am sleeping around, now leave me alone". Do you really believe that he will leave you alone? Or might it be, that by saying that you will get more attention from him?
