I did have a date shortly after moving out, and it was a great date, but disaterous in the emotional department. I also am struggling though because I do feel ready to date. But, I might be confusing "ready to date" with "desperate for emotional love". I have been deprived so long that I forgot what real intimiacy is like. Thanks everyone for your feedback. It is always nice to know that I am not a weirdo for feeling like nobody is trustworthy. I find myself starting to really trust a friend or family member, or co-worker and then stop myself cold, knowing that the potential to be lied to or hurt is there.
