Hi Shelly! Wow, I have really been off for quite a while. 
I have been trying to squeeze in as much school work as possible before Christmas vacation hits. Then we take 2 weeks off, and gathering momentum again is pretty slow.
About Spelling Power: we love it, too! My ds loves that he doesn't have to study any words that he already knows how to spell. That is how I was using his ABeka lists last year. I have a used 6th grade copy of ABeka's spelling book, and I also incorporate some of those lists into his SP program. It's amazing how many words they already know. 
I'm so glad we made the switch to SP, it's working out very well. Since we use Wordly Wise for vocabulary practice, I also will incorporate his vocabulary list as a spelling list every time he starts a new one.
Spelling is much less stressful now.
