You're right, we need to "stay active" around here!
How are you like Spelling Power so far? DS is doing fine with it, in fact, we have not yet hit any extremely challenging lists, but I know they are coming!
Do you test just for 5 minutes? It seems complicated to stop in the middle of a list, so I just test the whole list. I will do that unless or until he has too much to study. Thing is, they don't really give you room to write the whole list. Today I had to make another copy of the page and tack it on to the back of the original. Weird. I guess they don't really want you to do the whole list, or else they would have given us more room; (either that, or the lists should be shorter!)
Other than that, I have no complaint with it. The dc are loving Mystery of History so far. This is a very big change from reading chapters in a textbook. History is ds's favorite subject, and he was starting to hate it, he thought the textbooks too boring. MOH has lots of ideas for activities to go along with your continent, time period, etc...I am going to take out some library books to go along with this curriculum.
Shelly, is BJU very similar to ABeka in its content and format?
