Diana!! It is so great to hear from you! It has been quiet around here so I guess you haven't missed much on the board but it seems we have all had our hands full with life!
Can I ask a ridiculous question? I have been on this board for at least a couple of years now and I still don't know what "ds" and "dh" etc. mean! Can someone please tell me. I have figured out that "ds" refers to a son and "dh", a husband but I don't know what the letters actually stand for :>)LOL!!
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father. It is good that you can all be there for your mother though. I lost my father in 1997. It took me a couple of years to fully comprehend that he was gone. I suppose the hardest part for me as a Christian has been not knowing if he was saved. I think it makes all the difference if one knows whether or not they will be seeing each other again when the time comes. Hope is a powerful thing and I would not want to live my life without it.
As far as school stuff goes, I have one son that has breezed through most everything. I skipped 5th grade math with him and went straight to 6th and it went great. I also skipped 5th grade spelling with him. Then I have another son that can't seem to memorize his multiplication tables to save his life and is a full 2 grade levels behind in spelling. I have never heard of this other spelling curriculum that you both have mentioned. Can you please tell me a little more about it and what makes it different from ABEKA's?
Can I also ask you guys when and if you began a foreign language and if you would use ABEKA for that?
Right now I am the VBS director for my church. I have never done it before and have convinced my church to try something they have never done before. I am very nervous about this and all consumed with everything tropical as our theme is "Outrigger Island." Please, Please, Please pray for me to allow Christ to lead the way and for us to reach those in our community that have not embraced the "good News." Love,Kimberly
