Hello,
My name is Julie Billett. I'm a volunteer for Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids. Critter Crusaders is a 501(c)(3) that exists to support the health, welfare and adoption of animals at Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control. I wanted to tell you the story of a sweet young Bulldog named Sweet Pea.
Sweet Pea is an young, Old English Bulldog who came through the doors of the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Contol shelter as a stray on Tuesday August 3rd. Most shelter's would have had no choice but to end her suffering due to a lack of funds and space. Because of Critter Crusader's member Doug Fuller, this young dog's bad luck was about to change. She was transported to Frey Pet Hospital for treatment. Sweet Pea has severe Demodectic Mange and her skin is infected with Staph. This is a costly treatment and Pea will be hospitalized for 2-3 weeks under the care of Dr. Jennifer Feuerbach. Sweet Pea will start the healing process and then go into foster care. The difference that we make in the lives of these animals is our passion. Suffering gives way to health. Homelessness becomes happiness. Please help us make that difference for Pea.
Donations gratefully accepted for the "Healing Sweet Pea Fund".
