Hi Johnathan...I breed the English Bantam and Mini Bulls. My little English Bantam Stud... wieghs 22 pounds and stands 12 inches tall. He has not had any health issues nor does he have breathing issues...well except in the EXTREME heat like plus 25-30 celcicus...then I simply put out the swimming pool and he dives in and cools off...and carries on with the fun.
Of all the dogs I have produced a few have developed cherry eye...and stenotic nares...both issues easily corrected with minor surgery at time of spay /neuter.
So in answer to your questions I can only speak for myself...I have never had any of the issues you are writing of ...and all my dogs are healthy, happy and full of life...eager to go and play..In fact one of my mini bulldogs is competing in agility this weekend.
