As long as he himself was a bachelor or widower, it would not have mattered in the least if each of his parents had undergone (say) five marriages and divorces.
I have read in Wikipedia that Prince Albert's parents were divorced and that his mother was deceased and his father remarried prior to Albert's marriage to Queen Victoria.
Do you think that the divorce would have been an impediment to Albert's marriage had his mother been alive and had his father not remarried?
