The first episode was aired this past Sunday night in the US. As a history teacher, I thought it was very good. It highlighted the rise to power of Anne's father, Thomas Boleyn, and discussed Anne's childhood along with giving a little more detail of her time in France and the Holy Roman Empire.
Am looking forward to Episode 2 this coming Sunday night.
Recently I saw advertising on my public television service here in the U.S. for a new dramatic series called "The Boleyns: A Scandalous Family". Since the Tudor period interests me, I've decided to watch this when it airs - it's just 3 episodes so quite short. I'm interested to know anyone else's reaction who might have already viewed the series - is it very insightful about the king, court and intrigues of the period? I've already seen past TV and film in decades when other Boleyn related material came out - thinking of "The Other Boleyn", or "Anne of a Thousand Days" or "Becoming Elizabeth". Does this latest series add anything new to what's been told, or bring a fresh perspective? Thanks.
