Didn't he only study it for a few months when he was like 20? I understand it's a very difficult language. So I wouldn't expect him to remember it so many years later, especially as he doesn't use it on a daily basis.

I was also under the impression he read his speeches from phonetic spelling, as had Diana and William.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
