Where's the gaffe?

The whole story is illogical and needs further examination, someone waves a Welsh flag at the Prince of Wales during a tour of Canada and his ALLEGED first response is "I don't remember any of my Welsh".

What a random thing to say, it doesn't make sense to me, especially when just over 3 years ago the Prince gave a very high profile speech in perfect Welsh.
