When the Prince went to Australia shortly after his engagement with Camilla and his visit happened quite close to that of the Danish Crown Princely couple, everyone said he would be overshadowed and that Australians didn't care.
Yet I recall seeing pictures of thousands of people outside the Sydney Opera House waiting to catch a glimpse of him.
The Canadian monarchy is for the Canadian people to decide but if they seem apathetic about the royals themselves, they seem even more apathetic about doing anything to change matters. I think the Queen has always made it clear that it is up to each country to decide its future for itself, the royals will continue to serve until such a time as they are no longer wanted. I think that's a fair approach.
I don't agree with the comment by Andrew Pierce, I don't think the British people really care, the Australian referendum on the monarchy didn't really make massive headlines here.
