There was a programme recently on the History Channel about WWII. In a soldier said that in '44 (I think) with the Russians advancing, the British Court had asked for "their relations" to be saved - i.e. Prince + Princess Stolberg-Stolberg - which they duly did. Maybe the genealogists amoungst you be able this confirm this relationship - which must be tenuous at best?
