I think she may actually have been much further down the line of precedence than this at the time of her marriage.Queen Mary,Queen Alexandra,Princess Louise the Princess Royal,Princess Mary Countess of Harewood,Princess Victoria and Queen Maud of Norway (George V's other two sisters) may have outranked her.Don't the daughters of a monarch collectively outrank younger sons and their wives? Then again there were three daughters of Queen Victoria still alive at that time (Princesses Helena,Louise and Beatrice) who also may have outranked her being daughters of a monarch.Several of these women were still living at the time of the abdication so Elizabeth may still have been way down the pecking order at the time she became Queen.
