The wife of Former President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing is Anne-Aymone Marie Josèphe Christiane Sauvage de Brantes.
She is the daughter of a "Count" Sauvage de Brantes (the title is not recognized) and of Aymone Marie Sylvie Renée Princesse de Faucigny-Lucinge et Coligny.
She is a great-great-granddaughter of Charles-Ferdinand de Bourbon, Comte d'Artois, Duc de Berry (1778-1820).
So the concept of 'princesses' is not unknown in M. Giscard's own life. The book will be a fantasy. No way that Diana would engage in a relationship with him. If she could not stand Charles, then she could for sure not stand M. Giscard who loves to start in endless monologues on Europe, France, history, politics. Not really Diana's cup of tea.
