Thanks for explaining! I stand corrected, I always thought that the Lord Lieutenant was the homologue of a Dutch Queen's Commissionary but the latter is more political (president of the Provincial State council), I think. But I think that upholding the dignity of the Crown is a different task from that a Dutch Commissaris van de Koning(in).
In practice: how does one uphold the Crown's dignity on a daily working basis? Example?
