The Queen Mother 'had colon cancer'

This BBC article says that the official biography of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother will reveal that she was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 1966 and underwent a 90-minute operation to remove a tumour. She cancelled all engagements for three months in the beginning of 1967, and, as we know, lived to be the age of 101, dying in 2002.
