I think this article is much ado about nothing, really (but thanks, Chav for providing the link). Freddie is very far down in the line of succession, and he's not royal. He probably didn't invite senior royals because he's not close to them. He and his wife will be living in the USA for the time being and they will likely soon be forgotten. If it weren't for his parents who are frequently in the public eye, most people wouldn't even know who he is. Although, given her new in-laws, Sophie Winkeleman will probably be considering future acting roles more carefully.
