I detect anti-British prejudice.
For example, referring to the United Arab Emirates, the report quotes:
"The [sheikhs] seem to have forgiven the British for any excesses they may have suffered under imperial rule ... there is far more fondness than rancour for the British"
In reality, the fondness is due to the fact that there were no excesses. The area was never under British rule. The most that happened was that Britain suppressed piracy and slavery, and imposed a Treaty of Perpetual Peace and Friendship.
