In every Prophets time the Almightly equips him with tools to challenge the people. A prophets miracle posseses to qualities it is extraordinary and it serves as a proof. In the time of Moses magicians were prevelant--He challenged them with the staff, In the time of Jesus there were medical experts that could diagnose you with great certainty and skill--He challenged them with the ability to heal.. In the time of Muhammad, Peace be upon all the prophets, poetry and language were of great importance and the Quran challenged all beings to write a chapter or verse that possesed the qualities of the Quran and none of them could. Moreover the Quran remains to be a book that is unchanged and has flourished all over the world. Speak with anyone that has background in archaeolgy or similar fields and they'll tell u that it is an extraordinary feat that the Quran has remained unchanged from the beginning.... IT is amazing if a book can remain over the many changes in society and civilazation...... The other miracles of the sort u suggested are ephemeral in comparison to a living miracle such as the Quran which transcends time,spirituality and science. This is the most noteworthy of miracles of the Prophet and enough of a proof. It is recorded in numerous books the many miracles of the Prophet such as spilting the moon, speaking to plants, rocks etc, healing the sick etc etc there are many miracles. It is also stated in the Quran Sura al Isra about the night journey where he ascended to the Heavens.
