Posted by Irn12 Considering Arnold was the biggest guy (most developed, Mr. Olympia, what 6-7 times in a row), there wasn't a chance of getting someone bigger in the muscle department. But, I never saw Conan as the biggest guy around. I saw him as a tough guy who overcame tons of obstacles just because he set his mind to it. He felt he had right on his side. Arnold did good by Conan as well as Conan doing good by Arnold.

Arnold was no Conan, but he helped make Marvel a successful film, for a change.

: The part where he laughed at the insane wizard
: (Akiro) was the worst example of so-called
: "acting" I've ever seen. Conan has
: WAY more personality than Ahnuld ever
: displayed. And he was way too small for
: Conan. Conan is probably taller and broader
: than a doorway, and Schwarzenegger doesn't
: even look much like him anyways. Not to
: mention that Arnold was just Conan-lite. He
: had to run away from wild dogs (not even
: real wolves), and was straining to tip over
: a stone cauldron thingie. Still though, on
: the other hand, Subotai was pretty good (I
: liked that look he gave Valeria when she, a
: woman tried to give him orders, it was
: pretty funny), the movie had an absolutely
: superb musical score thanks to Basil
: Poledouris (who also did the music for
: "Robocop" and "The Hunt For
: Red October"), and the props and such
: looked honestly ancient, authentic and
: perfectly fitting. Good fight scenes (IMO,
: they were better back then than the kung-fu,
: wire-fu, gun-fu bullcrap movies have
: nowadays) with plenty of blood and gore. The
: movie had the right feel to it. Too bad they
: couldn't find anybody other than Ah-nuld,
: tho.
