RS finally gets her first fight in...and loses.
In the previous issue, RS and Daniel (husband) set sail, only to be waylaid by pirates. Unfortunately for the crew, RS isn't the RS of legend, and the crew loses the fight. Daniel refuses to give up a secret (maybe he doesn't know?), and is killed. RS shows a flash of her warrior past, and cuts off the hands of one pirates. She's then gutted, and falls in the ocean.
RS revives on shore, finding her dead husband and crew. Rather upset, she encounters the mysterious guy who slashed the goddess. RS semi-recognizes him....he goes by Osin. He tells her that she's alive b/c these worm things are keeping her from bleeding out. Yeah...ok. She was run completely through. But ok.
Osin tells her that her people are dead. RS tells him that she wants to be a warrior..and squishes one of the worm things.
Thoughts:
An ok issue. Decompressed for sure. The real value is the work of Geovani and Andrade. The pencils and colors are quite good, and are worth the issue alone.
There's also a nice full page tribute to Michael Turner.
All in all, a little slow feeling, but a good issue. Worth a read.
