I cant believe you don't like this run? Just because its a different approach does not a bad book make. Does it? And its a total restart, you never know who will show up later or what will happen next. If your favorite characters return wouldn't you be sad that you were not reading it from day 1 ![]()
: Well, of all Roy Thomas's work, the only stuff
: I didn't really like was that stuff with
: Belite. A ship of black warriors worshiping
: two white people as gods was just a little
: too much for me.
:
: And they all just seemed a little spineless
: compared to say, Juma or Zula.
:
: Anyway, Roy Thomas's stuff--like L. Sprague
: de Camp whom he worked with alot--was
: building off of hints and such left by
: Howard, who did indeed leave plenty of gaps
: to filled and tales to be told. In the end,
: he's written more Conan stories than anyone
: else to date and I think he and Sprague de
: Camp have carried Howard's torch better than
: anyone else.
:
: I can't stand the new stuff, like I said,
: but worst of all to me seems the lack of
: reverence for the post-Howard Conan writers
: that came before. At least they're
: reprinting the Marvel run; thank goodness
: for small favors I guess.
