You see many posts on the boards from different places that want to link all bulldogge breedings together as one. The problem with that is that they are not. Just because you have registries that want to rake in money and register anything does not make it genuine. Why don’t these people call up the RBKC and ask Chadde or Jody if they mind if they register their RB’s as OEB’s. Do you think they would mind?? Sure they would because of the work that they have put into their dogges to be recognized as RB’s. Why don’t these people call Ray Giacobbe and ask if he minds if they register his IB’s as OEB’s. Do you think he would mind?? Sure he would, in both cases they not only would mind, they would be aggravated and upset to say the least. You don’t call a longer muzzled, pet quality Rottweiler [they do exist] a Doberman because they are marked the same and have the same colors. Likewise, just because the Dobe has Rottweiler in it you don’t just wake up one day and say, I have a Rotti. The Olde Victorian Bulldogge is different from the other bulldogge strains, they are different from them all, the RB, IB, OEB, OSB, OTB, and yes even the VB [Victorian Bulldog, UK Mollet] which is why we adopted the OLDE VICTORIAN BULLDOGGE name. The foundation of this breed of dogge is even different. Leavitte used Bullmastiff and Pitbull, these were not used in the foundation of the OVB. The RB’s had bandogge in it’s foundation, the IB’s had Neo in it’s foundation and the VB’s have had Brittish Bulldog [KC Bulldog] and DDB infused in it’s blood, none of which was used in the foundation of the OVB. Different registries get upset because we take a stand against this and they like to bad mouth us for it but like I said go ask the other breeders of their dogges if they want you dual registering their dogges as something it is not, better yet, go ask Tim Kelly if he wants you registering any of his dogges as an OEB with your registry. If the VBA were to take any of these breed of dogges and register them as OVB’s these men would take offense at this action. Although we cannot control what other registries do we will however dismiss any kennel, member ect… that tries to register his/her dogges [OVB’s] with another registry as an OEB just to gain puppy sales or hits on his/her website because the OEB name is more popular. Some of these same registries will take an EB bred to a Pitbull and register it as a pure bred OEB. If you see posted on another board that the OVB is just another OEB strain you now know that this is incorrect and a false statement only to mislead others into registering their dogges with them. The OVB is an Olde Victorian Bulldogge NOT an Olde English Bulldogge. Thank you for your time.
