Posted by Ted Rundall Lloyd and Betty Rogers also told us that the Penn Yan VFW and American Legion were organizing a bus trip to the dedication and official opening of the WWII Memorial in Washington, and Betty and Lloyd have been invited, all expenses paid, by the Penn Yan VFW Post 745. The American Legion is in on it too. Pretty nice, huh?

Al Hatzmann noticed that the souvenir booklet from the 17th VMB-423 reunion (Newport, RI)
In Memoriam list includes the name Lloyd Rogers. Al and Midge are very happy to tell us that this was a mistake. It reminds us of a quotation attributed to Mark Twain... Twains cousin Jim fell ill and the newspapers reported that Mark Twain had died. When contacted about this, Mark Twain replied, Just say the report of my death has been greatly exaggerated.
Were glad to say the same thing about Lloyd Rogers.
And Betty informed us that, in case we didnt know, the name Penn Yan is short for
Pennsylvania Yankee. We didnt know but now we do!
