Thank you for this great information. The book i am referring to was distributed after the war. my dad was contacted by either the marine leauge or the corps not sure which. I believe he may have had to order it. the book was a hard cover that described the events of the south pacific marine ops. It described each battle and listed those who were lost in the battle. it mapped the marine operations from island to island. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have served with my dad. the two names my mom mentioned were Fallon and Hannon. I really appreciate the your response and hope to continue dialouge on the message board.
