My father Tech Sgt Charles E Hines, VMB-423, passed away in 2000. I have acquired certain military records which include a glowing letter by 1st Lt H. R. Sweet recommending him as "Potential Warrant Officer Material". My father did not talk much about the war. He is mentioned in your narratives by Ray Martin as his "main man in transportation". I was wondering how he acquired three "battle stars" on his Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal. I only recently discovered your site and I am consuming all you guys have written.
