Saw your message concern 423 patch. The attached link will get you to a site that has a patch for 6/7 bucks. My dad Ralph L. (RL) Harvey, was a Corpsman for the 423 from late '43 thru 45, stationed on Green Island. He wore the USMAC uniform both field and dress when assigned there as was the custom then, with the MAG 11 0r 12 patch. Not sure that there was ever a HQ USMC approved patch but never-the-less hope this helps. I have ordered 1/2 a dozen of the 423 patch and they are excellent quality.
