Hi, Paul
Linda alerted me to your message.
I’ve often thought of you (and of your Dad) when looking through our “Remembering VMB-
423" book.
I’m not sure what you mean by an original VMB-423 scrapbook, Paul.
In the late 1940's two of our officers published a book with the simple title of “VMB-423
Seahorse Marines”. It had a maroon cover, the title was printed in gold lettering and overall
looked like a high school year-book and has come to be known to many of us as the “yearbook.”
I know that someone found one for sale on e-Bay several years ago and bought it for something
like forty or fifty dollars. I should think chances of another one surfacing would be pretty slim but you could always look.
You know about the book “Remembering VMB-423" so I don’t think you mean that.
Subsequent to that, a second book was published, called “Remembering VMB-423 Book 2.”
Is the scrapbook one of these?
Best regards, Ted Rundall
