Is anyone a descendant/researcher of John Smelley and wife Sarah Casey of Isle of Wight? I am attempting to locate the parcel of 100 ac of land they sold to my ancestor William Hatchell in 1753 in or around what I believe to be Beaverdam Swamp but also bordering on Blackwater Road according to the deed. This is land Robert Smelley bequeathed to his son John. Part of it was later sold to George Hall, Jr. by Morris Hatchell and his uncle Conyers Morris. Thanks.
