I am looking for some solid information about this family that could been there in the early 1700's or before. Then the family migrated to North CArolina. The earliest I can find record of them in NC was a James Peeden married to Patience ?? about 1740 (this a guess) or later . I have a record that says James Peeden could been born in Northampton NC. about 1720. I can find some about them in Johnston Co NC, and Giles Co Tn and Lauderdale Co Al, etc, but no one seems to know much about them, where they came from, etc. The name changed about every 10 years from Peeden, Peedin, Peden, Peaton, etc.
